Ingredients:

100g (7/8 c.) Milo powder (similar to Ovaltine® or Nesquick®)
225g (2 c.) cocoa powder
125ml (1/2 c.) water
125g (1/2 c.) butter
200g (1 3/4 c.) milk powder plus 4 T. water (combine to make paste to avoid lumping)
80g (3/8 c.) brown sugar
4 eggs, lightly beaten
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 tsp. Kahlua
1/2 tsp. salt
200 plain Marie tea biscuit, broken into pieces

Directions:

Bring water to boil and add Milo powder and cocoa powder. Keep stirring and add butter followed by milk powder paste. Continue stirring and add brown sugar. Slowly add in eggs. Keep stirring for 5 minutes until eggs are almost grainy. Turn off the heat and remove. Add vanilla extract, Kahlua and salt. Fold in the broken Marie tea biscuits. Cool and then cut.

Editor's Note: Marie biscuits are sweet, light and fluffy tea biscuits with a hint of vanilla. They may be available in the special cookie section or international foods of your local grocery store. Goya is one brand to try here in the U.S., though they use the name Maria instead of Marie. Also, Mary did not include in her directions what to do with the cookie mixture to cool. No problem! We can safely assume to put the mixture either onto a baking sheet or dish. When mixture is cooled, then cut into bars. Sounds delicious, Mary!

Enjoy!
