Another favorite Christmas recipe for the cookie press
Ingredients:
1/2 c. butter (room temperature)
1 and 1/2 ounces cream cheese (room temperature)
1/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 c. sifted all purpose flour
Green sugar crystals or candy sprinkles
Directions:
Cream butter, cream cheese and sugar. Add vanilla. Slowly add sifted flour. Mix well. Form wreaths with cookie press. Decorate with green sugar or sprinkles. Bake at 400 degrees for 8-10 minutes. Do not overbake. Cool on rack.

This is a favorite of our family. I make these every Christmas, and other shapes at other times of the year.
Ingredients:
1 c. shortening
3/4 c. sugar
1 egg
2 and 1/4 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1/8 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. almond extract
Green food coloring (for Christmas tree cookies)
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar. Add unbeaten egg, sifted dry ingredients, flavoring and coloring. Mix well. Use a cookie press, to press shapes onto a cookie sheet. Decorate as desired.
Bake at 400 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
